In this painting Faces I used acrylic paint. The acrylic was used to represent a symbol of modern art. This painting is combined with circles and rectangles to make structures. I believe every person has multiple emotions, which can be seen within this painting. There are 4 faces within the painting, showing a different point of view. I took this class with Professor Dorsey, who allowed me to see the various views within one art piece. Because of that I created this piece.

The self portrait used Pencil to create a detailed affect. The painting is filled with simple lines and dots. The darker color is done by taking the pencil in going over multiple times with lines and dots. This class taught me a new way to do paintings. Professor Cifuentes taught me to use percentage as a skill to show balance within a painting.

The self portrait was done with pencil and charcoal to create a smokey effect. It is a way to practice and understanding the mystery between shadow and light. When I was creating this painting I learned it is easier to start with a draft of the art piece then work within the detail of the structures. The tips I learned from this class are to step away from the painting and recollect your thoughts to understand what areas need more work.

The self portrait used oil on canvas to create a colorful fall sense. My idea was to bring viewers into the detail of the leaves across the body and then view the painting out from there. In the painting I was wearing a long white shirt to present how humans are part of nature joining with the leaves within the painting.
